Summer Day Camp Environmental Education Volunteer - Summer 2024

Nature Vision is looking for volunteers to help support our summer camp programs. We are a non-profit environmental education organization that fosters appreciation and stewardship of our environment by educating and connecting community to the world around us. We envision an inspired and connected culture where everyone makes choices for a sustainable future. 

We operate summer day camps (July-August) in Redmond, Shoreline, and Sammamish, WA. Our goal is to help provide practical experience to individuals interested in pursuing the fields of education and/or natural sciences.

We are seeking multiple dynamic volunteers with a high level of creativity, thoughtfulness, and flexibility. Our programming reaches many diverse students in our region and volunteers must be responsive and relevant to all participants. 

Role/Expectations: Volunteers assist Summer Camp Educators in providing an educational, fun, and safe camp experience for Nature Vision campers. Volunteers provide additional supervision, help lead games and activities, and support campers' overall learning and experience. Volunteers gain valuable experience, learn leadership skills, stay active, and have fun! 

Time Commitment: Volunteers will be on site for a morning shift (9am-12pm) OR afternoon shift (12pm-3pm), at least 3 days per week of volunteering (two weeks minimum). 

 Start/End Date: Camp sessions occur between 7/1/24-8/23/24; you choose your weeks (two weeks minimum). 

Minimum Qualifications: Volunteers are required to pass a background check for any states they have lived in, have reliable transportation to and from camp sites, and be 16 years of age or older. Physical requirements include the ability to move through the camp sites alongside campers and educators. 

Special Requirements: Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and updated prior to start date.
